Ride support

Rest and water stops are evenly placed along the route to keep you going strong.

Rest stops provide water, fruit, light snacks, including a special featured food tasting item, and restrooms. If you have any special dietary needs or need more than a light snack, feel free to bring your own food to the event. Water stops simply provide water and portable restrooms.

Volunteers will be available to guide you along the route and help out if you get a flat or need a quick bike adjustment.

Preparing for the ride

Proper preparation for Four-Star Bike & Chow will go a long way toward your full enjoyment of Chicago’s best neighborhood bicycle ride. Here are some useful tips for riders who participate in Active Trans' other great ride, the MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive. The same rules of thumb apply.

Get your bike ready to ride

Before the ride, do a safety check to make sure your bike is in good working order, or take it to your local bike shop and have them look it over.
